About Stephan Wright

Stephan moved to Chattanooga in 2013 after practicing law in Northeast Ohio for a decade. Stephan has a wealth of litigation and transactional experience, having counseled clients from starting up, to effectively managing and resolving unforeseen conflicts.

Stephan enjoys trying cases and has been a trial attorney his entire career. His litigation practice focuses on commercial disputes and business litigation. In addition, Stephan has successfully handled numerous probate and estate disputes such as will contests and conflicts involving trusts. Stephan also represents injured parties, persons involved in real estate disputes, and other general litigation matters. Over the years, Stephan has tried numerous bench and jury trials in both state and federal court and has handled appeals throughout Ohio and Tennessee.

In addition to his broad litigation experience, Stephan routinely counsels business owners on day to day questions they face on corporate matters, business questions, and buy-sell issues. Stephan's business clients range from single owner operations to multi-state businesses. Stephan’s medical and dental professional clients regularly consult with him on their ongoing needs as well. Stephan’s skill set as a litigator allows him to better counsel his corporate clients in understanding their contracts and conducting a risk assessment.

Stephan graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree, where he majored in both History and Zoology. He received his Juris Doctorate, graduating cum laude from The University of Akron School of Law in 2003. While at The University of Akron, he was a member of Akron’s trial team.

In 2020, Stephan was named a Super Lawyer and in each year from 2009-2018, Stephan was named either a “Mid-South Rising Star” or an “Ohio Rising Star” as noted by Super Lawyers.

Stephan is licensed in all Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio state courts, and is admitted in the Northern and Southern District Courts of Ohio, the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee, and the 6th Circuit Court of Appeals. In addition, Stephan has been admitted on a pro hac vice basis in the United States District Courts of Massachusetts and Utah.

Stephan lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Heather, a teacher, and their twin daughters. They attend Christ United Methodist Church where they are both actively involved in leadership roles and small groups. For the last several years, Stephan led Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University at Christ Church. In addition, Stephan currently serves on the boards of directors for Volunteers in Medicine and the Mountain Shadows Swim Team, where he is also the treasurer. He is also a former board member of Chattanooga’s Audubon Acres. Stephan is also a Barrister in the Brock-Cooper American Inn of Court in Chattanooga.
